Protecting the Lark Hill retirement village

25 Sep, 2009 Astral has played a key role in ensuring the safety of residents at the prestigious Lark Hill Retirement Village, in Nottingham. Lark Hill is owned and operated by Extra Care and is amongst the largest retirement villages of its type in Europe. The site has 327 individual homes and many impressive additional buildings housing fitness suites, shops, cafes, IT rooms and a well being centre.
Extra Care contracted Cirrus Communications for electrical, fire and security systems work, including maintenance and servicing. Cirrus, in turn, chose Astral to install and commission the following systems:
1. Fire alarm
2. Nurse call
3. CCTV
4. Access control
5. Telephone
6. Data
All systems have preventative maintenance contracts in place, with life safety systems receiving a 4 hour call out. Astral is currently working with Cirrus Communications on similar projects in Erdington, Gloucester and Stratford.
