Nearly half of all workplace and commercial fires are electrical and around 1,000 electrical workplace accidents are reported to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) every year, with 2.5% of these ending in death.

As an employer or business owner you need to ensure you are working to prevent electrical fires in your workplace by meeting your responsibilities under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.

This includes being confident that the electrical equipment in your workplace is maintained in a safe condition – from desk lamps and kettles, through to toasters, printers and workplace equipment.

This is where portable appliance testing (PAT) plays a key role and where we can help. PAT testing involves having your electrical equipment tested and certified at regular intervals by a qualified, competent person.
